In 1995 was the first time Ray's work was reconized In the very first Tattoo Magazine Outlaw Biker Tattoo review #45 Because when Ray started tattooing if you wanted to pictures of tattoos there were no tattoo magazines. You actually had to buy an outlaw biker tattoo magazine and check out bikers with tattoos. So anyone that has interest in a tattoo or piercing really owes bikers and military people. For being ahead of their time in fashion. Yes not quite GQ . Just new skin cool !
Between 1995 and 1996 Ray's artwork was publihed a few more times in Outlaw biker Tattoo Outlaw Biker tattoos for Men and Outlaw biker Tattoos for women as well as Tattoo Flash Magazine..
1997 was a great year for Ray and Vision World.. Ray took home Best of Show Female color from Queen City Tattoo Expo in Cincinnatti Ohio. This was Ray's first award and Rays favorite tattoo expo with Rays favorite artist Mario Barth in attendance Tom remshaw Jay Wheeler Tony Oliva don Mcdonaldland and many many more world class tattoo artist in attendance.. This show was so great because of one man. His name, Rowdy the host of the show, it was his show and he made you feel welcome.. Rowdy tragicly died a couple of years later. Without him there was no show. R.I.P. Rowdy the tattoo world is not the same without you.
In 1997 Rays was contacted by Tattoo Flash Magazine a world wide publication.. They ended up puting Rays name on the cover and a ten Page spread on Ray's artwork inside.. HooRRay for Ray! Til this day and makes Ray happy to have been honored with this.
1998 was another Great year for Ray and Vision World. Rays work started to be publihed on a regular basis It was when the local readers of the local paper the Octopus voted Vision World the best Place to get tattooed and piercied !Alright! With the added business Ray bought himself a 1969 chevy corvette convertible 4 speed car that he has till this day. With even the parkland news paper doing a story on Ray. And more thropies from more shows.
Over the next 12 years Ray has been honored with winning the Best place to get Tattooed and Piercied in2000,2001,2002,2003,2005,2006,2007,2008,2009 HellYeah! Special thanks to all of our die hard clients. For taking the time to vote for us. We love you all...Ray has won over 4 dozen national tattoo awards for his work. And been published dozens of times in magazines newspapers calendars , Ray's paintings have been in galleries. Ray even had a local pilot T.V. show Vision World Ink. Though it did not work out as well as Ray had hoped. It was one totaly awesome expereince.
Unlike some artist Ray has no desire to push his ideas onto your flesh. Being a painter/sculptor Ray is able to work through his ideas with other artistic mediums. People think that its wierd that Ray wants to kn ow how much they want to spend. Before he tells them the what hes going to do thats because, Ray is a commercial graphics artist. Which meens he can simplify or make your idea as complex as humanly possible. Ray has no problem keeping it simple and the artistic skill to make it a tattoo or piercing that everyone will talk about. So come on in with your Vision and Ray will Bring Your idea to the World using his artistic skill. (hence the name)
